Three Chilian architects have suggested the construction of a tunnel that would connect the land-locked country of Bolivia to the pacific ocean. The Chilian prime minister Mariano Fernandez is open to the idea, saying that "Chile is open to all suggestions that foster Latin American integration". Bolivia has been demanding access to the ocean since their defeat in the Pacific War in 1879 with Chile, but hasn't provided any imput or enthusiasm to the idea yet. The three architects are confident that the tunnel CAN be built, it's just a matter of gaining political consent from Bolivia, Chile and Peru. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8049814.stm
